Best Ji-Sung K-dramas

Ji Sung is an established South Korean actor who is also a family man but has continuously left his fans surprised at how well he takes up the lives of his characters in drama series he has starred in. Below, we collate his best performances. Have any of your favourites made the list?

Adamas (2022) In this show, Ji Sung plays the roles of twin brothers Ha Woo-shin and Song Soo-Hyun. Soo-Hyun is a prosecutor at the Central District Prosecutors’ Office while Ha Woo-Shin is a best-selling mystery novelist. They are working together to find out who murdered their stepfather and framed their biological father. Although it has been 22 years, the brothers will not give up on solving the mystery and getting justice.

The Devil Judge (2021)  Ji Sung plays the role of Kang Yo Han, a devilish judge in a dystopian world. The judge gains his fame by fighting for the rights of the people by punishing the dishonest with no mercy whilst having his intentions and ambitions. Set in a society that is full of hatred and chaos. Trials are aired on television through a live court show. The associate judge also learns about the unfairness associated with his family’s past. The intriguing plot of this exquisite drama is one of the main reasons this is a top watch. 

Kill me, Heal me (2015) Ji Sung plays the lead role as Cha Do Hyon, a successful heir who secretly battles dissociative identity disorder. The kind-hearted young man has other six identities which were caused by a traumatic childhood experience. He asks a first-year psychiatric resident to help him regain his life. The psychiatric resident eventually falls in love with one of his personalities.

 Innocent Defendant (2017) Ji Sung plays the role of a prosecutor at the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s office, as the head of the violent crimes investigative division, and has a history of never losing a case. He wakes up and finds himself as a convict on death row. He has no idea of what landed him in prison. Suffering temporary amnesia, he tries to regain his memory and clear his name off the charges. Watch the series with romantic and law scenes that will interest your day.

Familiar Wife (2018) This is a romantic fantasy drama where Ji Sung plays Cha Joo-hyuk who works at a bank and has been married to Seo Woo-jin for five years. He gets a chance to go back in time but everything, including his wife, is different. In this new timeline, he is married to his first love, Hye-Won. Which life will Joo-Hyuk choose?

Doctor John (2019) Gaining the nickname “10 seconds” because of his ability to diagnose his patients within the time they enter his office and take their seats, Doctor John is an intriguing medical drama. Within this show, doctors who specialize in pain management search for the cause of pain in their patients. Ji Sung stars as Cha Yo Han, a genius anesthesiologist lightens up the series in the scenes.

Secret Love (2013) The amazing series is about a man who does not believe in love but falls for a woman who has been hurt by love. Ji Sung plays the character Jo Min Hyuk. Min Hyuk is rich but consumed with vengeance since he learns that his lover was a victim of a hit-and-run accident. Kang Yoo Jung takes the blame for her boyfriend who was the driver at the time of the accident. If you are looking for feel-good moments, this is a drama series that will exceed beyond your expectations.

All In (2003) The drama was inspired by the life of professional poker player  Jimmy Cha gave Ji Sung a breakthrough and catapulted his career to Hallyu status. In this gambling drama, Ji Sung brings to life  Jung-won who is a friend to Su-Yeon and In-ha. Together (In-ha and Jung Won) hatch a plan to avenge Su-Yeon’s father after he was killed by loan sharks. In the end, Suyeon is arrested for the fire, Jung-won escapes to the United States and Su-Yeon becomes a nun. Seven years later, fate brings them together again. Who will win Su-Yeon’s heart?
